This tour takes gives you a day in the Lake District National Park, from York. Its an ideal way to see the villages, market towns and scenery associated with this stunning National Park. 

 

Leaving York every Friday, this tour takes in the highlights of the Yorkshire Dales and the Southern Lake District.

      Departs Tours run Fridays from March 24th 2018 to October 28th 2018. The Official Start point is Duncombe place, next to the Minster.

    • This tour takes gives you a day in the Lake District National Park, from York. Its an ideal way to see the villages, market towns and scenery associated with this stunning National Park. 

       

      Leaving York every Friday, this tour takes you over the Yorkshire Dales to Windermere. Here passengers will join our partner company Mountain Goat for a tour around the southern lakes.

      Highlights include:

      • A cruise on Lake Windermere, where you can sit back and enjoy panoramic views.
      • Hawkshead, time to explore this traditional Lakeland village dating back to medieval times.
      • Tarn Hows, a famous Lake District beauty spot with unrivalled views towards the fells beyond.
      • Hill Top House, the home and gardens of Beatrix Potter (entry to the house is extra, closed Fridays except in July & August).
      On conclusion of the tour there will be one hours free time in the lakeside village of Bowness-on-Windermere before heading back to York.

       
    • Tour Type
      This tour is a guided scenic mini-coach tour, but there are times when you will have the option to walk up to a few hundred metres to take in a view or point of interest.  

      Hill Top
      Please note that Hill Top is not open Fridays, except June, July & August.
      Entrance to Hill Top is also not included in this tour.
       
      Lunch Stop
      The lunch stop on this tour is in Hawkshead where there are many places for you to get something to eat and drink. 
       
      Clothing & Footwear
      We suggest you wear comfortable and sensible footwear, we also recommend bringing a light raincoat.
