Welcome to the All Creatures Great and Small tour from York, where we will take you on an unforgettable journey through the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, visiting the most iconic filming locations from both the old and new series of the beloved TV series.

The Yorkshire Dales is known around the world for its unique and epic landscape of green rolling hills crisscrossed with mile upon mile of dry stone walls, dramatic limestone crags, thousands of sheep, historic ruins and picture perfect little towns and villages.

Recently the Yorkshire Dales has seen a flurry of extra interest due to the new series of All Creatures Great and Small, the show has become synonymous with the Dales. So much so that the two go hand in hand. Join us we get off the beaten.

The tour departs York at 9.15 and makes its way out of the city, gain an insight into Yorkshire place in history as you make your way through the plains of York onwards towards the Yorkshire Dales.

Our first stop of the day is in the old village of Grassington. This charming village, with its small Market Square has lots of quaint little shops, cafes and pubs and has a second life as Darrowby in the new series of All Creatures Great and Small.

After you've explored Grassington we head off the beaten path, taking the fine scenery of Wharfedale, eventually leading up and over the highest road in the Dales. The Beggermans Pass takes us through breathtaking scenery, through tiny little villages and filming locations for the new series of All Creatures Great and Small including St Michaels Church in Hubberholme (Wedding between James and Helen) and Yockenthwaite Farm (the Aldersons farm).

Eventually the Beggermans Pass ends up high over Wensleydale, at a height of 589m and drops down serenely into the unofficial Capital of the Yorkshire Dales, Hawes.

Hawes is a Historic and busy little market town, typical of the Yorkshire Dales. Enjoy a look around its busy little centre (a stark contrast to quiet hills of the Dales), find a nice pub for some lunch or head up to the Wensleydale Creamery for a taste of the historic cheese.

After Lunch we head further into Wensleydale and to the famous Robin Hood Waterfalls, Aysgarth falls to give them the correct name is where Robin Hood Prince of Thieves was filmed. Spend a little time taking in the scenic waterfalls and get that great selfie before we head on to the last stop of the day at Castle Bolton. This was a favourite place for Herriot and where he proposed to his wife.

Castle Bolton is a 14th century Fortress home of the Le Scrope Family. You will have chance for tea and coffee in a castle. There will be a chance to have a look around the gardens and look out for the Birds or Prey and wild boar, use the facilities and have a stretch whilst enjoying panoramic views across Wensleydale. For an extra charge you may wish to discover Mary Queen of Scots Bedroom or climb the tower for a spectacular selfie opportunity.

As we leave Castle Bolton we get yet more fabulous view over Wensleydale before we drop back into the plains of York and eventual back to the City.
